The DeNové Soapbox is designed to give our friends in business a platform to talk about the things that matter to them and that help shape the world in which we live.

In 2007, Tarun Kumar founded Xyanni to assist enterprises to develop their market position in India. Xyanni, the India Partnership for Emerging Enterprise, aims to create and deliver market strategy and business development services as a key-partner to those mainly Europe-based clients that are planning to expand their activities to India.

According to Tarun, "Until very recently, India was considered to be a market to sell low-end goods and services. Now there is a booming demand for all kinds of high technology equipments and consumables, some of which are even being made in India with technical supplies/ support from the Western countries. To help clients address these opportunities, Xyanni has brought together an impressive complement of Advisory Board members with a wide range of proven business development and operational expertise and experience across a spectrum of high tech sectors.

It is Xyanni’s aim to provide clients with the right tools and support to unlock the massive commercial potential that remains untapped in this, one of the world’s most exciting places to do business.”

Indeed, it appears that India is not following any of the proven paths to success. Compared to the classic Asian strategy – exporting labour intensive, low priced manufactured goods to the west – India’s economy is driven more by consumption than investment, domestic markets more than exports, services more than industry, and high-tech more than low-skilled manufacturing.

As part of its wide range of business strategy and development services, Xyanni also conducts research and analysis in key areas of interest for inward investment in India. One such study was recently completed on the rapidly expanding Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) and the implications and possibilities that this presents businesses hoping to exploit this growth opportunity. The report is the first of its kind on this subject and was compiled by Xyanni with no third party funding. As a result, the analysis and finds are refreshingly impartial and instructive, based on primary research including meetings with ministers in the current as well as the previous government organisations.
